But while men slept, his enemy came
and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
So it seems that America wants a revolution. With the emergence of the Occupy Wall Street protests, it appears as though Americans have finally had enough. However, though the intentions may be just and the efforts may be valiant, it is too late. The game has already been won. The powers that be are about to announce checkmate!
Historically, progressive social movements have been infiltrated, their leaders co-opted and manipulated, through the corporate funding of non-governmental organizations, trade unions and political parties. The ultimate purpose of “funding dissent” is to prevent the protest movement from challenging the legitimacy of the Wall Street elites.
— Michel Chossudovsky
The resistance movement within the American population is like a bad football team that has surrendered a six-touchdown lead to its opponent entering the fourth quarter. They may score a few points and make the game look more respectable, but the contest has long been over! The protests taking place across the country merely serve the purpose of giving the illusion of freedom. The traps have been set, the snares have been laid and the government of the Beast has already been established!
For years, many have sounded the alarm about the injustices and atrocities the American government and military has committed in countries across the world. For this, they were labeled unpatriotic and anti-American.
For years, many have warned that the American empire was being built through a phony war on terror that has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children. For this, they were branded nuts, kooks, conspiracy theorists and traitors.
For years, many have documented how Corporate America (through stealthy legislation such as NAFTA) has shipped American jobs to foreign countries to lower their costs and pay their CEOs astronomical salaries to the detriment of working-class Americans. For this, these would-be whistleblowers were silenced.
For years, many have admonished that the U.S. government and its agencies have been working on the achievement of the total surveillance of society and making privacy obsolete. For this, they have been marginalized as paranoid schizophrenics.
For years, many have exposed the U.S. government’s direct involvement in the torture and abuse of alleged terrorists and so-called enemy combatants, holding them unjustly without legal representation and fair trials. For this, they have been placed in prison or had their careers and lives ruined by those holding power to do so.
For years, many in the alternative news media have cautioned that the U.S. government has been embedded with the mainstream media, using it as its official propaganda machine to play the left and right against each other to keep the people distracted. For this, their writings, reports, and broadcasts have gone ignored and have been demonized by the mainstream media.
For years, many addressed how the financial barons of Wall Street and big business played games with our money through Ponzi schemes, derivatives, and fraudulent home loans resulting in the economic collapse of 2008 and the rapidly declining state of the economy ever since. For this, they were laughed at and told that trillions of dollars in government bailouts would make things right.
For years, many have sounded the alarm that the government has been enacting legislation (the Patriot Act) that destroy individual rights and give greater powers to Federal agencies and institutions to spy on individual citizens, read their email, restrict their access to travel, among many other infringements. For this, they themselves were placed on government watch lists and labeled potential enemies of the state.
So, after courageous writers, reporters, investigators, soldiers, veterans and citizens have been warning people about these issues for all these years, now the desire for revolution has come to the streets of America? Frankly, I am not at all surprised that large-scale protests have finally come to America, but what took so long? If you have eyes to see and ears to hear you might realize that the time for protests has long passed. Americans have ignorantly handed over too much power, wealth and information to its Beast government. You’ve probably heard this analogy before, but it is worth repeating. The American populace is akin to the story of the frog placed in cold water that is slowly boiled to death. The state this country is in today did not happen overnight. Indeed, it took a very slow boil to get to the point we are at now. And like the frog that is slowly heated to its death, it is too late to jump out of the water.
The American people have become fat and lazy (I mean this metaphorically as well as literally). I don’t say this to intimate that I am without fault; it is merely an observation based on the events of the past ten years. The hypocrisy of Americans is now being exposed. When the economy was steady in the early days of the Bush administration, to the housing boom in the middle of the past decade, hardly anyone cared that the U.S. was bombing innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, it was cheered! When it was revealed that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and that the entire war was based on lies and deception, not many blinked an eye. When facts began to emerge that disputed the official story of the 9/11 atrocity, they were brushed off by many as inconsequential.
Now that the actions sowed by the government since the war on terror was declared are being reaped by the average citizen, there is a loud outcry. Before there was widespread unemployment, homelessness and poverty, most people were too busy with the frivolity of life to be concerned about the evil perpetuated abroad by the government in their name. Now that these consequences have hit us right in the wallet, we want to scream bloody murder.
Resistance to the authority that we have been placed under will bring God’s judgment…God gives us the type of government that we deserve to serve his purposes.
— from the article America: The Christian Nation?
The people in high places have steadily, relentlessly plotted and schemed their way into power. Police States, totalitarianism, Fascism, and dictatorships do not happen overnight. They are slowly, meticulously planned. By the time people understand what has happened, they have already been victimized. History is rife with examples. Study the rise of the Nazis in Germany and the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia to see how it is done. Now a coup has taken place in the once proud nation of the free and brave. But, this plot to usurp the power of the citizenry of America is not new. Here are some of the statements that were penned decades ago by some prominent historical figures.
“Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men’s views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the U.S., in the field of commerce and manufacturing, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.”
— Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United States
“Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.
This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.”
— Dwight D. Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States
“The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, and more selfish than bureaucracy. It denounces as public enemies all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes. I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me and the bankers in the rear. Of the two, the one at my rear is my greatest foe.”
— Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States
“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.”
— Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the United States
If you think that taking to the streets is going to change anything you are right and wrong. There will be change, but it will not be the change many are expecting. The changes people are desiring to take place through the protest movements will be as evasive as the changes many thought would happen when President Obama was elected. Sorry to be so negative, but the truth hurts and faithful are the wounds of a friend. The powers that be are just lying in wait to unleash the next phase of their control and dominance over society. The spark they will need to completely light the fuse is when the protests become violent, which I think will eventually happen. Whether it is the protesters themselves or the agent provocateurs already dispersed to undermine the movement, somewhere, someone will begin to use violence that will likely spread like wildfire. Then, the government can declare a state of emergency and enact Police State legislation (which they no doubt have already written and will have it expediently passed through Congress). Then you will see armored police squads in every major city in the U.S. You may be asked for your identification at random checkpoints. If you even look at an officer the wrong way you may be pepper sprayed, tasered, beaten, or shocked before you are hauled off to jail on trumped-up charges.
You may think the preceding paragraphs are conjecture or the wild musings of a man who is out of step with reality. But history shows these things to be true and guess what, history has a tendency to repeat itself.
History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NLT)
The death knell of the Roman Empire sounds eerily similar to the current state of the American Empire. Here were the major causes for its decline:
- Fast expansion of the Empire forcing constant wars and heavy military spending
- Barbarian Knowledge of Roman Military Tactics
- Antagonism between the Senate and the Emperor
- Decline in Morals
- Decline in Ethics and Values
- Political Corruption and the Praetorian Guard
- Failing Economy
- Slave Labor
- Unemployment of the Working Classes (The Plebs)
- The ‘Mob’ and the cost of the ‘Games’
- Natural Disasters
- Barbarian Invasion
Are these situations not identical to present day America (although we have yet to actually see an invasion, there are warnings of them on the horizon)? Like America’s descent, the fall of Rome did not happen overnight.
This slow decline occurred over a period of approximately 320 years, culminating on September 4, 476, when Romulus Augustus, the last Emperor of the Western Roman Empire, was deposed by Odoacer, a Germanic chieftain. Wikipedia
America is not finished yet, but its decline has happened much faster than the 320 years it took to destroy Rome. The Police State is all but complete. We had the audacity to hope that one man would change all of this, but to no avail. Our faith was sorely misplaced. Society has become more immoral, unethical, polarized and Godless. While we slept an enemy crept into our gardens and planted weeds that have sprung up and overtaken the flowers and plants. There is only one alternative at this point in time and it is one that many will completely ignore to their own judgment!
Sadly to note are that laws such as these allowing a government to begin mass confiscation of their citizens private wealth, like those enacted by the former German Nazi Empire and Soviet Russian regimes, always presaged mass civil unrest, revolution and outright war. Source
Stay tuned for Part Two of this series, which will examine the spiritual root causes for the state of America and what the prophetic scriptures portend.
Are you sure you are ready for a revolution? We must be careful what we ask for!
